Kathleen S. Wright “Kay” (Smyth) of Quincy died peacefully Thursday surrounded by her family.  She was born and raised in County Offaly, Ireland.  Kay left home at 14 to study nursing in England.  She migrated to the U.S. from there and held a key position at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston for many years.  There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with family and friends.  The wife of the late Richard W. Wright.  She is survived by her son Craig A. of Quincy.  She was also the stepmother to the late Sandra (Wright) McCormack.  Cherished Grandmother of Kylie and Shane Wright and Heather and Tiffany McCormack.  Kay was one of 7 children and the daughter of the late Patrick and Teresa (Carroll) Smyth of Crinkle, Birr, Ireland.  Sister of Mary Tierney of Crinkle Birr, Michael Smyth of Houston TX, Emily Domogal and Ann McIntyre, Rita Ackerman all of London and the late Madge Smyth.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial Wed at 10 am in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy.  Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7 pm in the Lydon Chapel, 644 Hancock St. Quincy.  Burial Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.  Donations may be made in Kay’s name to the American Cancer Society, 1324 Belmont St. Suite 204-101, Brockton, Massachusetts 02301.
